Not as Fools

Ephesians 5:15-21

New King James Version (NKJV)

Walk in Wisdom

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lordis.

This was part of my devotion this morning. I read it and went on.

I will honestly say that I have been truly guilty of letting certain things or should say "issues" that is going on in this world just pass me by.

Why?

It don't really effect me, Idon't really  understand , I don't know who or what to believe so.... My solution .... Don't watch the news , don't listen just go on with life and follow The Lord in obedience!

But this afternoon it has just really hit me just what I was needing to receive out of this devotion this morning!

To not walk as a fool but wise!

Wise in what is going on around me in this world where my adversary is producing evil more and more each day!

It is my responsibility and obedience to Know what is going on and what my family and I are living in and what decision we need to make according to the word and not of the world.

By Faith

Many days ago I was reading a devotion and some of the scripture came from the book of Hebrew. As I continued to read on in the passage I started realizing it was one for me! One that I was needing to read and study more of!

You see I believe and love my savior and I seek to share His word with others. But yet, I also realize I am human, flesh born into sin. Though I know I am saved from those sins I still fail. I find myself at times, with a lack of faith and/or having faith in someone other than my Lord!

I will admit a great sadness this brings me, when I realize I have again caressly taken matters into my own hands or desired for another human-flesh to fix my troubles.

When all along God is calling for me to just have FAITH in Him and in His timing!

As I study, Hebrews chapter 11, I realize I have read this before but this time there is a difference......

Hebrews 11
1-Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Verse..
3- by faith we know God made all from nothing, of things that are not seen
4- by faith Abel offered a sacrifice from faith in God, unlike Cain
5- by faith Enoch came before God with faith and was taken up
7- by faith Noah having not yet seen the things to come continued in faith of God
8- by faith Abraham obeyed not knowing where he was
9- by faith  Abraham dealt in a foreign land
11- by faith Sarah was conceived with child due to faith in the promise
*17- by faith Abraham offered up his own son knowing Gods promise to him
*20- by faith Isaac blessed his sons for the faith of those things to come
*21- by faith Jacob blessed the sons of Joseph
*22- by faith Joseph gave instructions concerning his bones

** all these 4 had faith in God for the things yet to come**

23- by faith Moses lived from the faith of his parents knowing God was in control
24- by faith Moses refused to be a Egyptian
27- by faith Moses forsook Egypt not fearing the king, for he endured seeing Him who is invisible
28- by faith Moses kept the Passover
29- by faith he lead God's people thru the  Red Sea
30- by faith the walls of Jericho fell after being circled seven times
31- by faith the harlot Rahab did not perish

32-40 many lived and died, lived righteous, some living, some being tortured, some with nothing; but all by faith in His promise and of that, that is yet to come!

The best way for me to end this blog is by more of the word of God!
May He speak to your hearts through this as He has mine!

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1, 2 NKJV)
